Videographic Venice: The Video Essay at the Intersection of Place and Practice is a three-year summer workshop hosted by Venice International University (VIU) since 2026, organized by Barbara Zecchi, Colleen Laird, Danielle Hipkins, Alan O’Leary, Johannes Binotto, and myself. It is an intense, hands-on workshop exploring placed-based videographic practice, and the varied histories of Venice both as depicted in film and media and as encountered in lived experience.
